The Williams Pioneer Review Celebrating 5th Year in Print

Williams Pioneer Review Celebrating 5 Years in Print

By: Lloyd Green Jr- Editor & Publisher
Continuing to serve the communities of Arbuckle, Colusa, Grimes, Maxwell and Williams -for free! The most read community newspaper in colusa county and the only news publication that is produced with the cooperative efforts of local businesses and our advertisers.

As the owner, publisher, editor and reporter of this publication would like to thank the supporters and readers of the Williams Pioneer Review. Your continued support helps ensure the continued success of this publication. Since the beginning the goal of this newspaper is to provide our community with a family friendly news publication that focuses on the facts and the story as a whole rather than selling a newspaper. As we continue providing our news publication at no cost at our distribution sites, we hope that the community continues to support us by reading our publication, providing us with information and stories, and local businesses continue their advertising support to make this all possible. We ask that our readers frequent our advertisers and remind them that you seen their ad in the Williams Pioneer Review.

We look forward to continued success as in the start of 2012 we moved our publication from a twice monthly format to a weekly format. We would like to thank you for your patience as we worked out the kinks in developing what will work correctly for our schedule, our advertisers, and the news content. Please note that we will be publishing every Friday of every week.

There is an abundance of individuals whom I would like to thank who have been instruments in our success that they can not go unnoticed. I would like to first and foremost thank my mother Jennie Green who not only supports everything I do, she is out there with me every publication delivering the newspapers, and even being a backup reporter/photographer when needed. There have been several nights where we are up until wee hours in the morning after hand inserting sales flyers and driving around the county making delivering the paper this community has learned to love.

I  also want to thank Pat Ash who has been there with our publication from the beginning spending her precious spare time researching old articles and assembling her history column, whom will soon be a published author.

Additionally I want to thank Richard Lau for his continued support in taking photos for our publication; he is a master at his craft and provides us with some stunning images that could compete with the New York Times. Without further adieu, I would like to thank Lisa Van De Hey of the Gridley Herald who has been a tremendous help and provided words of encouragement and advice this last year.

I know there is many more, but with the space I have dedicated to this I want to express my thanks to anyone and everyone who has ever submitted an article, press release, community brief or purchased an ad. The communities support has been a humbling experience and I look forward to many more years to come.

I want to welcome any comments, letters to the editor, and suggestions. Please feel free to call me at (530) 473-2686 or email me at publisher@wpr-news.com. Once again, thank you and I look forward to many more years as the publisher and owner of the Williams Pioneer Review, your community newspaper, a publication that is 100% locally owned and operated. ■
