Fouse Wins with TKO at Gladiator Challenge

On Saturday August 27, Thunder Valley Casino hosted the Gladiator Challenge “Unleashed” that showcased some of the best competitors the Gladiator Challenge has to offer. In the list of the best is Colusa High graduate Clinton “C.J.” Fouse Jr., 18, whom made is his mixed martial arts debut.

With a victorious win, Fouse successfully defeated Ray Heredia, 30, via TKO in round three. The victory moved Fouse’s record to 1-0.

Receiving a blow to the ribs on the first round, Fouse sustained a broken rib. Heredia tried to succumb Fouse with his injury with multiple knee and hooks, however he kept fighting.
“I had no idea my rib was broken,” said Fouse, “I just kept on fighting even harder.”

Fouse will have to take six weeks off to heal.

Fouse received his training at the Colusa Fitness Center with trainer John Soars.

“I became interested in fighting when my father took me to a match when I was in the 8th grade.” said Fouse, “ever since then I have just wanted to do it.”
With aspirations to fight professionally Fouse has started his career off with an impressive win.

“It was exciting participating in the event,” said Fouse, “after the fight was pretty awesome having people coming up and asking me for autographs and photos.”◄
