Civil War Days Scheduled for September 23

Northern California Civil War Re-enactors will give tours and demonstrations of Civil War Life and will also include full scale battles with infantry, cavalry, and artillary. The Civil War Camps will be open at the Colusa County Fair Grounds, located on Highway 20 and Harris Street, Colusa, on Saturday and Sunday, September 24-25, 9:00 a.m. -3:00 p.m. Battles will occur on Saturday, 11:00 a.m. and again at 3:00 p.m.; Sunday’s battles will occur at 11:00 a.m. and at 2:00 p.m. Individual admission is $5.00, senior and student (5gh grade and above) admission is $3.00, with a $20.00 maximum charge per family.

Colusa Civil War Student Day, Friday, September 23, 2011 to be held at the Colusa County Fair Grounds, Highway 20 and Harris St, Colusa, California. The Student day is will be held for students throughout Colusa County based on donations by local businesses and indiviual citizens. Donations are still needed and will be appreciated. Donations of any amount, none too small, can be sent to the Colusa Heritage Preservation Committee, 421 Webster St. Colusa, Ca. 95932.

Demonstrations of the Civil War experience will be presented to the students by volunteer Civil War Re-enactors of Northern California. Some will include the kitchen, medical facility, music of the era, and the armoment including canons and rifles. â–
