Laughable Times at the 88th Annual Colusa County Farm Bureau Dinner & Fundraiser

Staff Report

The Colusa County Farm Bureau is holding its 88th Annual Dinner & Fundraiser on Thursday, March 1 at the Colusa County Fairgrounds.

Staying true to its mission and values through its 88-year history, it is the longest agricultural organization in Colusa County said Bill Wallace the President of the Colusa County Farm Bureau in a letter to its members and prospects.

This year, the Farm Bureau has a great program planned to ensure a fun-filled event that includes an enjoyable evening with wine tasting and barbecued sausage during the social hour and a one of a kind performance by A Dixieland Band that will put everyone into a bidding mood for the silent auction. Later a delicious tri-tip dinner will be served along with a dissert auction.

The 88th Farm Bureau Annual Dinner will not spare on the entertainment, as Farmer comedian and agricultural speaker Jerry Carroll will harvest a bumper crop of high hilarity in his fast-paced, high-energy show about every day life. His relatable topics crack up the hardest to please crowds.

Carroll found humor growing up on his family’s farm. From the time he could walk, joining his father and uncle to farm 130 acres of flue cured tobacco, 500 acres of corn, 500 acres of small grain, 500 acres of soybeans, 40 head of cattle, and 5,000 hogs per year. Spending 14 hours a day in a tractor cab gave Carroll plenty of time to think about his life’s dream of entertaining people and making them laugh.

Carroll has opened concerts for music artists such as Michael Bolton, Patty Loveless, Lyle Lovett, and Larry Gatlin. Everywhere he goes, he leaves audiences roaring with laughter.

Carroll is perfect for those who enjoy country comedians and blue collar acts as of those of Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall, and Larry the Cable Guy.

Don’t miss out on this fun filled evening of food, music, and great entertainment. Wine tasting and appetizers starts at 5:30 pm, Dinner starts at 7:00 pm, and the show starts at 7:45 pm. Tickets are $50 each and are available at the Colusa County Farm Bureau Office. For more information or to reserve your seat, please contact the CCFB Office at (530) 458-5130 or email ccfb1@frontier.com ■
