Week 11-Playoffs – Round 2 Semi-Finals, Sunday,April 22, @Williams HS
During the semi-finals for the winter league last weekend, upsets of the two favorites set up an all Williams final for the Championship.  The Championship game is going to be held at the Colusa Casino this Sunday 29 April starting at 6:30 pm.Both the number 1 and 2 seeds got knocked out of the playoffs in tightly contested games.  For the balance of the season, the top six teams were evenly matched, hence the close and competitive games this past weekend were not too surprising.  Of note, this, the third season will see a new champion as the two time champions, Hoosiers, are out of the playoff picture.

Savages 52, Redskins 32
In the opening semi-final game, the #3 Savages went back and forth with the #2 Redskins for the bulk of the game, with the lead changing hands eight time in the first half and no lead larger than 5 points.  This pattern continued into the second half until the Redskins fell into a drought and could not buy a basket.  After cutting the lead down to 33-30 Savages half way into the second half, the Savages went off to score 19 unanswered points.  The score with about minute left was 52-30 to which there was no answer by the Redskins and sending the Savages to the final.

SWAT 57, Aces 50
SWAT, who had previously lost to the Aces by 5 early in the season, took an early 13 point lead with an opening run of 5-0 followed by later run of 10-3 .  The teams Then a long concerted 16-6 run by the Aces got them the first lead in the game at the beginning of the second half at 35-34.  The the game see-sawed for nearly the rest of the way with 8 lead changes.  There were ten different 1 point leads and five different tie-game all in the second half.    At the 5 minute mark, the Aces found themselves up by but 1 point at 49-48.  SWAT then came back with a small run of 9-1 as the Aces could not find a way to convert a basket.  SWAT closed out the game winning 57-50 putting them in the Championship game.

The losers of the semi-finals, the Aces and the Redskins, will square off in the Bronze medal game this Sunday at 5 pm which will precede the title game between SWAT and the Savages.
