Colusa mushroom growers Premier Mushrooms L.P. will return to the Colusa Farmers Market this year as sponsors of its highly successful grant program, and the Market is pairing up with the city’s Concert in the Park Series.

Last year’s mushroom sales at the Market generated $1,000 in grants which were awarded to Colusa County non-profit groups.

Premier Mushrooms CEO John Ashbaugh said he is pleased to be bringing the program back again this year.

The market opens on June 11 at 4 pm at Memorial Park in Colusa. This year, the market is combining with the City of Colusa Concerts in the Park Series which kicks off its concert series on June 11 with ‚ÄúBook ‚ÄėEm Dano‚ÄĚ, a surf and hot rod band.

The farmers market will be every Monday throughout the summer and early fall. The concerts will be presented in conjunction with the market on June 11 and 25, July 9 and 23 and August 6 and 20.

In addition to the Farmers Market grant project, Premier Mushrooms L.P. has also returned as a concert sponsor.

‚ÄúWe will also sponsor Kaylee Starr‚Äôs concert again this year on July 23 and we will provide mushrooms for the Colusa County Volunteer Citizens Service Unit barbecue at the concert (Feather River Gypsies) on July 9.‚ÄĚ

Director of the Farmers Market Lynda Reynolds said that there are a number of new vendors joining the market this year. ‚ÄúOf course our popular past vendors like Jax Kettle Corn, Chengs Berries, Barb‚Äôs Produce, Little Lynda‚Äôs Eggs and Honey, and our wonderful Premier Mushrooms are returning,‚ÄĚ said Reynolds.

Reynolds commented that she believes combining the farmers market and the concert series is going to be a very positive thing.

‚ÄúWe have so many wonderful things to offer here in Colusa County, and it will be great to have two of the most popular summertime events together,‚ÄĚ she said.
