Over the summer while many boys are playing video games, sleeping or just being board Troop 5 Boy Scouts of Colusa attended a week long summer camp. This year they traveled to Wente Scout Reservation located in the mountains of Willets. They were one of over 14 Troops making the camp total over 600 Scouts. One of the largest weeks the reservation has had.

They worked on many Merit Badges ranging from Environmental Science, Fish and Wildlife Management, Horseback Riding, Riffle Shooting, Archery, Cinematography, Small Boat Sailing, as well as many others. In total the Scouts earned 51 Merit Badges as well as Jr. Coral Award, Honor Pack and Honor Troop awards. Shooting black powder riffles and axe throwing were also highlights.

At camp scouts also work on many personal skills such as character building, leadership, problem solving, team building, trust as well as living by the Scout Oath and Law.
