
The small community of Colusa is mourns over the recent tragic loss of 17-year-old Jordan Hillis, killed in a single vehicle rollover on Lonestar Road, Friday September 21.
At approximately 5:20 p.m., Hillis was traveling on to the Pierce vs. Colusa football game when his vehicle left the road and rolled multiple times before resting on its wheels, he was pronounced dead at the scene. 16-year-old Kyle Stacey, a passenger, sustained minor to major injuries and was life-flighted to Enloe Medical Center in Chico.
Stacey’s condition is unknown at this time.
News spread quickly to classmates at the football game where players took-a-knee and gathered in a moment of silence, paying respect to a beloved classmate and community member.
Hillis is survived by his mother and stepfather Sara and John Barron, and two siblings a brother John Barron, and a sister Courtney Lewis.
A Facebook page was setup in memory of Hillis where hundreds have shared their sentiments and memories. The page can be found by searching for ‘Rest in Peace Jordan Hillis’.
A community car wash is scheduled for, Sunday September 23, 2012 starting at 9:00 a.m. located at the Colusa Burger King Parking lot. Proceeds will help with the memorial of Hillis. Donations will be accepted.
