Ida Elizabeth Gomes (1923 – 2011)

Long time Princeton resident, Ida Elizabeth Gomes passed away on December 11, 2011 at the age of 88. She was born February, 18, 1923.

As the 2nd oldest in a family of seven, Ida graduated from Princeton High School where she went to work for the Pacific Telephone Company and she retired after 43 years in Sacramento. She moved to Chico where she lived for 25 years. Her favorite past times included traveling and she loved being active in many clubs including Telephone Pioneers, Holy Ghost Festa and Our Divine Savior Catholic Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers Leonard and Manuel and sisters Agnes McVey and Helen Pates. She will be missed by her large circle of family and friends.

Ida is survived by sisters Marie (Wendell) Green, Lillian (Jim) Mole, and nieces and nephews Jim (Erica) Langford, Pennie (Bob) Morejohn, Ron McVey, Lori Mole, Bryan (Kim) Mole and 6 great nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held on December 16, 2011 at the McNary-Moore Funeral Chapel.

She was laid to her eternal rest at the Holy Cross Cemetery in Colusa.
