A monument to peace was recently installed at the Maxwell Elementary School yard.

On November 8th, 2013, the students and staff held a Peace Pole installation ceremony.

Captain Renee Marie was the guest speaker at the event, and opened with a moment of silence for the people in the Philippines.

The peace pole is an internationally-recognized symbol of the hopes and dreams of the entire human family, standing vigil in silent prayer for peace on earth.

Each Pole bears the message May Peace Prevail on Earth in different languages on each of its four or six sides. To date there are thousands of peace poles in nearly every country in the world dedicated as moments to peace.

Maxwell Elementary Students along with the help from the family of Ruben ‚ÄėBoy‚Äô Lopez, helped install the peace pole and plant flower bulbs to bloom in the spring.¬†
