The North Valley Health Education Foundation educates people about health related issues and financially supports students involved in the health sciences. It is governed by 16 directors: 12 elected from the community and 4 appointed from Butte College, California State University, Chico, University of California, Davis, and Enloe Medical Center.

The Foundation maintains and expands several health-oriented programs. Through health fairs, speakers, and other activities, we educate the public about their own health so they can lead longer and healthier lives. NVHEF awards scholarships up to $30,000 annually to students enrolled in the health professions at Butte College, Chico State, UC Davis, and Enloe Medical Center. Over $760,000 has been awarded to over 900 students since 1974. The goal of the Foundation is to help people with financial need become contributing members of society and to see the investment in students benefit the communities they choose to serve.
