Alice June Burnett (1917-2013)

BurnettAlice J. Burnett of Williams passed away on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at Valley West Care Center. She was 95 years old. She was born in Kentucky to the late Isaac and Minnie Ison on October 9, 1917.

She was a member of the Williams Parkside Methodist Church. She was a cook at Valley West Care Center until her retirement.

Family and friends were Alice’s passion and delight. She loved to work in her flower garden around her house, bake goodies for the neighborhood and sew.

She is survived by her daughters, Minnie Sartain (Allan) of Georgia, Donna Chittenden (Robert) of Willows, son Donald “Boomer” Burnett (JoAnne) of Williams, 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.

Alice is preceded in death by her husband, Donald, a daughter Joyce Horton and numerous brothers and sisters.

The family wishes to thank all of those who cared for her during her stay at Valley West Care Center, Dr. Goodman and Colusa Regional Medical Center.

Visitation will be held on Monday, September 30, 2013 from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at McNary-Moore Chapel on Tuesday, October 1, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. Following the service, burial will be at the Williams Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Williams Cemetery Fence Fund or your favorite charity in her memory.
