The Council Members for the City of Colusa have unanimously endorsed Joe Garofalo for Colusa County Sheriff. The supporters include Mayor Greg Ponciano, Mayor Pro-Tem Kirk Kelleher, and Council Members Marilyn Acree, Thomas Reische, and Donna Critchfield.
A native of Colusa and a Sergeant in the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department, Garofalo continues to amass support throughout the County, and the endorsement of all five Council Members adds to the momentum that Garofalo’s campaign has built over the last four months.
“Joe is the clear choice for Colusa County Sheriff,” said Mayor Greg Ponciano. “He has dedicated his life to the safety of our communities, business owners, and residents, and he will be the leader who protects our way of life here in Colusa.”
After attaining his Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice, Garofalo returned home to Colusa and worked full time as a Correctional Officer, which afforded him the opportunity to put himself through the Yuba Police Academy. Garofalo has dedicated nearly two decades to the safety of the region he has always called home.
When asked about her support, Councilwoman Acree said, “Joe’s tenure with the Department provides him with the thorough understanding of how every area within the department is both managed and operated, which is critical in providing the community with a seamless transition.”
