Something seems amiss at Balfour Park, in Arbuckle. The modern play structure that was once visible from the street has been removed, and the ground flattened.
Not to worry says Mary Grimmer, coordinator for the Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District.
“The old play structure was dismantled and is in storage. It will be put up again in January in a new location further away from the street,” said Grimmer.
The decision to move the play structure after the board took on an opportunity to expand and improve the widely used soccer field.
The play structure will be relocated to the opposite side of the park near the baseball field, where additional play structures will be installed including one for the older age groups.
“All of this should start in January with the end goal of being ready for the Spring Fiesta,” said Grimmer.
