Anthony “Tony” Garofalo, of Colusa, took the reins as President of the Colusa County Fair Board at their meeting in January, replacing outgoing President Terry Bressler. Terry served two years as President, and remains as a member of the Board. E. Daniel O’Connell will serve as Vice President. Officer positions are elected annually in January.
Sergeant Tony Garofalo, of the Colusa County Sheriff Department, has a long history of involvement with the Fair and has served on the Board since 2005. As a youth he exhibited with both FFA and 4-H showing swine, even earning the Grand Champion status. “Our priorities are to continue fund raising to keep the Fair alive, building public support and to manage some TLC for our aging buildings.”
Tony and his wife Karen are raising two active young daughters, Maci, five, and Mallori, three. He also serves on the Board of the Colusa County Sheriff’s Association.
Daniel O’Connell, of Colusa has served on the Board since 2006. He and his wife Barbara own Barb’s Produce and raise registered Angus cattle. Daniel is the former County Assessor, and also serves on the Board of the new Colusa County Fair Foundation. He was instrumental in obtaining community funding for the new Community Building on the Fairgrounds.
