The Colusa County Free Library and its branches are looking for adult literacy tutors to tutor one-on-one with adults in the community to improve reading and writing proficiency. No specific experience is required, just the willingness and patience to help another member of our community build necessary skills for work and life. Training, all materials, tutoring space, and support are provided. Volunteer tutors are matched with students of compatible schedules once or twice a week to help an adult learner reach important goals, such as completing employment applications, earning a GED, becoming a citizen, or helping children with homework. Interested? Contact the Adult Literacy Service for more information and to sign up for training. Call 458-0373, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or stop by your local library.
