Williams Offers Electronic Waste Drop-Off

In today’s technological world, our closets and spare storage spaces are cluttered with old televisions, computer monitor, an old computer or two, dead printers and useless mobile phones; but where do you go to get rid of it?

Because many of our outdated or broken electronics often contain toxins such as lead, and mercury, we have to take safe measures to properly dispose of these items so they do not contaminate our ground water and landfills.

The City of Williams, in cooperation with Recology of Butte/Colusa County is offering free drop off disposal of electronic equipment such as TVs, radios, fax machines, cell phones, VCRs, microwave ovens, computers, printers, telephones, etc.

The drop-off service is available every first and third Thursday of every month between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the City of Williams Public Works Office located at 735 7th Street in Williams.

There is a five item limit per Saturday and residents must be able to carry and unload their own equipment.

Items must be dropped off during business hours only.

For more information contact the Williams Department of Public Works at (530) 473-2519
