Colusa County Seeks Poll Workers

The Colusa County Elections Department is seeking individuals to work at polling locations throughout the county.

To become a poll worker you must be a registered California voter or legal resident of the United States who would be eligible to vote except for your citizenship status, or an eligible high school student.

High School Poll Workers must be a United States citizens, be at least 16 years of age on Elec-tion Day, attend a public or private high school and have at least a 2.5 grade point average, get permission from your parents and school and attend a mandatory training session.

Responsibilities of a poll worker include, setting up the polling place and voting equipment, work-ing with other poll workers to operate the polling place on Election Day, and assist voters at the polls.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day, June 3, 2014.

Becoming a Poll worker allows you to become involved in the election processes and assist vot-ers while contributing to your community. Additionally, poll workers can earn $70 for their ser-vice, with a $10 stipend for attending a mandatory training class.
