Authorities say they are looking for a suspect in connection with a home invasion that occurred at about 11:30 p.m. on Friday, March 14th, 2014.
The suspect forced entry into a home on the 4500 block of Highway 45, just north of Maxwell-Colusa Road.
After entering the home the suspect fired several shots and fled the property after confronted by the homes occupants; leaving his gun behind.
The suspect was described as a Hispanic male, approximately 30 years old, and was wearing a 49’ers jersey.
“This is an odd case of burglary – vandalism,” said Colusa County Sheriffs Department, Lt. Shane Maxey, “however, we did collect evidence that may help us locate the suspect.”
The Colusa County Sheriff’s Department, Colusa City Police Department, the California Highway Patrol and the Williams K-9 Unit, assisted in a ground search for the suspect; however the suspect was not located.
“The investigation is still pending,” said Maxey.
No injuries were reported.
