Yuba County Superior Court Judge Julia Scrogin Announces Bid for Re-Election

Judge Julia ScroginDedicated public servant and incumbent Judge Julia Scrogin has announced her candidacy for a second term as Yuba County Superior Court Judge.

“I was born in this community, attended local schools, am raising my family here, and for the past twenty years I have worked to make this a safer community as both an attorney and a Superior Court Judge,” said Scrogin in a statement. “Your safety, our families, and the future of our region will always be my top priority. I hope my ability to provide justice for our communities has earned both your respect and support.”

As both a prosecutor and Judge, Scrogin has been a proven, dedicated public servant committed to preserving justice for the people of Yuba County. She was appointed to the Yuba County Superior Court by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2005, and was elected to a full term in 2008. She has presided over 45 jury trials during her time on the bench, and prides herself in treating everyone who walks into her courtroom equally.

Judge Scrogin received her law degree from U.C. Hastings College of Law in 1989, beginning her public service career with the San Mateo District Attorney’s Office. She tried over 50 jury trials as a prosecutor in San Mateo, Lake, and Sutter Counties, starting out in juvenile court and eventually prosecuting all types of felony cases ranging from fraud and domestic violence to first-­‐degree murder with special circumstances.

Judge Scrogin’s family has resided in the Yuba-­‐Sutter area for over 100 years. Her personal dedication to keeping Yuba County safe from violent criminals and providing justice for all families makes her the most ideal and competent candidate for Superior Court Judge.

Judge Scrogin has two school-­‐aged children and is a member of Marysville Kiwanis and Peach Tree Country Club.
