On Sunday, May 4, 2014 the Arbuckle Revitalization Committee hosted its annual Spring Fiesta, Carnitas and Salsa Cook-off with great success.
With lunch served at noon, scores of attendees lined up across the park awaiting to feast on carnitas and salsa from eleven different cooks.
There was fun for the whole family!
As the children jumped in bounce houses, and played various games hosted by the Arbuckle Parks and Recreation District; the adults sat comfortably under the shade trees eating their meals and enjoying adult beverages.
“I would like to thank everyone that helped make the Spring Fiesta such a huge success,” said ARC President, Debbie Charter, “Many thanks to our sponsors, and the individuals that brought dessert.”
Carnitas Cook-off Results: 1st Place: Yolo Fire Department, 2nd Place: Arbuckle Fire Department, 3rd Place: Mike & Tom Geyer Farms.
Ace Hardware/Alsco Geyer took first place for the Salsa competition.
Sancho’s Drilling Service (USS) received first place for the best decorated booth.
“I would also like to thank the teams that cooked and to everyone that came and enjoyed the day,” added Charter.
