Abandoned Vehicle Collision on Highway 16 Leads to DUI Arrest

On, Saturday May 24th at approximately 4:30 p.m., the California Highway Patrol was dispatched to a solo vehicle collision on Highway 16, just west of the Yolo County Line.

Upon arrival, authorities found a 2001 Dodge Stratus had collided with a guardrail. The vehicle abandoned was blocking both lanes of Highway 16 and sustained major damage.

The driver, 48 year old, Diana Beck of Vallejo California was located approximately 30-minutes later walking east of the collision scene.

As officers made contact with Beck, she displayed symptoms of intoxication.

Beck’s passenger, 48-year-old, Mark Perryman of Vallejo California was also located and sustained a minor cut to his forehead when the airbag deployed. He refused medical treatment.

Beck was arrested for a felony charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs causing bodily injury. She was booked into the Colusa County Jail, with bail was set at $50,000.
