Sometime between the hours of 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday June 17, 2014 and 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 18, 2014 the two tractor dealerships were burglarized taking thousands of dollars of inventory, tools and equipment.
According to authorities, the thieves cut the fence at Valley Truck and Tractor (John Deere), and then broke into a utility truck and obtained tools to cut a hole into the shop.
Once inside the stole powered hand tools, chainsaws, leaf-blowers and other various equipment.
“They took items that they could grab without setting off the security system,” said Sgt. Neil Pearson, of the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department, “They knew what they were doing.”
The suspects then relocated down the road to Beeler Tractor where a hole was cut into the side of the shop. There, thieves stole tools, electric saws, grinders, and a welder.
“Several employees noted that some of their personal tools were also missing,” said Sgt. Pearson.
Both businesses had a security system installed; however, the thieves managed to avoid setting off the alarms.
