Body of Missing Arbuckle Woman Found

The body of 28-year-old Ana Cristina Rodriguez Paez was found on the evening of July 17th, 2014 by the Colusa County Sheriff’s Department in the Canal approximately one mile from where she was reported missing.

The Colusa County Sheriff’s Department released a statement verifying that they have recovered and positively identified the deceased body of 28-year-old Ana Cristina Rodriguez Paez.

Paez’s body was located in the canal approximately one mile west of where she was reported missing, a half mile south of Tule Road.

According to sheriff’s deputies, Paez, her husband and their child were out fishing on Tuesday just south of Grimes when she became missing.

The Colusa County Sheriff’s dive team¬†and the¬†Sacramento River Fire Department, began to search for Paez with the help of the Meridian Fire Department and the California Highway Patrol.

With the¬†incident appearing to be a possible drowning, search were called off early Wednesday morning, and efforts were transitioned to a recovery search. Those efforts lead to the recovery of Paez’s body.

The cause of death is pending autopsy results.
