“We are seeing an increase of heroin use in the county,” said Colusa County Sheriff’s Sgt. Mike Bradwell, “primarily in the Arbuckle area.”
The Colusa County Narcotics Enforcement Team, the Colusa County Sheriffs Office, Colusa County Probation, and the Colusa County District Attorneys Office participated in serving the warrant at 7:03 a.m.
Jose Alvarez, was arrested at the 700 block of second street in Arbuckle where he was found to be in possession of 6.425 grams of heroin, and methamphetamine.
“In addition to the drugs found with Alvarez, we found items and other paraphernalia that indicate the intent to sell,” said Bradwell.
Alvarez was charged with possession a controlled substance paraphernalia, and two counts for possession of a controlled substance; possession of a controlled substance for sale; and possession of a narcotic controlled substance for sale. He was also charged with committing an offense while out on bail.
“The Colusa County Narcotics Enforcement Team normally handles methamphetamine cases; however, we are seeing a lot more heroin cases.” said Bradwell, “We are taking every approach we can to get it off our streets.” ■
