Pacific Flyway Quilters Presents “Quilts on Fire”

Quilters will be again be enjoying a wide array of quilts at the 8th Semiannual Quilt Show presented by Pacific Flyway Quilters of Colusa, CA – “Quilts on Fire”.  This fun event will be held on Saturday, October 4 from 10am to 4pm.

Pacific Flyway Quilters stages each of their shows at different interesting and historic locations.  This year visitors will be viewing quilts at both the Colusa City Fire and the Sacramento River Fire Departments.  The fire stations are located on Market Street in downtown Colusa and are walking distant apart.  Quilts will also be displayed in businesses along the route and we encourage you to see them.

Come and view new, vintage and antique quilts hung among the fire engines. There will be antique fire department items to view and a 1918 Brockway engine to explore along with a turn of the century hand pulled fire hose unit.  Vendors, a Country Store, Fire Bucket Raffle, commemorative pin and the 2014 Opportunity Quilt “Fire Star” will be part of the show.  New this year will be Opportunity Quilt Row featuring Opportunity Quilts from several guilds in our area.

The ultimate door prize will be awarded at the end of the day – the Add-A-Stitch Quilt.  During the show each visitor is encouraged to add their hand stitches to this quilt.  In return they are entered in a drawing for it.  You could win a new quilt!

Come and visit Colusa, just off I-5 for a wonderful fall day of Quilts on Fire!  ■
