According to the California Highway Patrol, at approximately 4:07 PM, Williams Police Officer, Jennifer Patterson was parked on the westbound shoulder of Highway 20 in a 2013 Ford Explorer Police Interceptor, on the lookout for a suspicious vehcile.
Officer Patterson spotted the suspicious vehicle traveling past her location and accelerated from the shoulder turning left onto the highway, attempting to make a u-turn, and subsequently struck the right front fender of a 2003 Ford Taurus.
Due to the force of the collision, both vehicles came to rest onto the westbound shoulder.
The driver of the Taurus, Shawn Flynn, 66 of Kelseyville, sustained minor injuries and was transported by ground ambulance to Colusa Regional Medical Center.
Flynn’s passenger, 66-year-old Sandi Flynn of Kelseyville, California was transported by air ambulance to Enloe Medical Center for moderate injuries.
Officer Patterson was transported to Enloe Medical Center with moderate injuries.
The collision remains under investigation by the Williams Area, California Highway Patrol.
