Their skillfully crafted scarecrow had a likeness of the Anime character GoKu from DragonBall-Z; however, instead of fighting evil the scarecrow was ready to fuel gas tanks.

“Congratulations to Davies Chevron,” said Harvest Festival coordinator, Stephanie Ponciano.

Hundreds of community members from around the county came out to celebrate the Fall Season as Colusa hosted its second annual Harvest Festival at the Colusa County Courthouse.

“People have asked me why we have it downtown and my answer is always the same,” said Ponciano, “It is important to have the event in a central place and bring people together. Plus the Colusa County Courthouse is one of my favorite buildings.”

Colusa City Mayor, Greg Ponciano reiterated Stephanie’s comment and added that this is a great time of the year to celebrate the community and its heritage.

A great day it was!

With temperatures mild in the morning, patrons browsed over 50 vendors, searched for the perfect pumpkin and listed to a string quartet from the Willows area.

“I would like to thank everyone who came out today and showed their support,” said Stephanie Ponciano, “I would also like to thank all of my committee members and volunteers for making the event a success!”
