Darnell Sines of Princeton enjoys working with people and helping seniors.
“I have always been a people person, and I love to socialize,” said Sines.
Sines commented that she enjoyed her job because each day is different, and she learns something new each day.
“We not only transport passengers we also deliver packages, but also deliver medications to people,” said Sines.
Sines enjoys surprising people with flowers she delivers from local flower shops.
“It is great making people smile,” she added.
Trained by former transit manager, Barbara Salazar, Sines commented that the Colusa County Transit is an excellent way to get around town.
“It is safe, clean and a lot of fun!” she added.
Building relationships with her passengers and her coworkers are important to Sines.
Sines’ daily route includes Williams, Maxwell, Princeton, Grimes and Meridian.
“My job is very rewarding,” said Sines, “we are here for the community and provide a valuable service.”
Some of Sines’ favorite moments while working at the Colusa County Transit are the departments Christmas parties where everyone celebrates the season with his or her spouses.
When Sines is not driving her passengers to their destinations, she enjoys fishing, camping and shopping.
“If you need a ride around the county, give us a call!” said Sines.
