Handmade Quilt to be Featured at Grimes Dinner

Pictured here are members of the Grimes Ladies Aid Society holding the handmade quilt that will be raffled at the Society’s annual Dinner & Bazaar on November 1 at Grand Island Elementary School in Grimes.

The quilt was made this year by Beverly Thayer. Raffle tickets will be available at the event.

Dinner service begins at 5 p.m. and will feature ‘all-you-can-eat’ turkey and ham with all of the trimmings. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children aged six-12. Children five and under are free. There are also a variety of crafts and prizes sponsored by the society members as well as area merchants and groups.

The Grimes Ladies Aid was organized in 1901. This annual event draws large numbers of guests countywide and from surrounding counties.

The Williams Pioneer Review has a small staff of one, covering all of Colusa County; but we’re proud to have the assistance of a large army of community contributors to extend our range and reach. This is one of those stories. If you have a story you would like to share, please email them to: or give us a call.
