Colusa County Fair Receives New CEO

WPR - Fair CEOAfter the resignation announcement from Colusa County Fairgrounds Interim CEO, Susan Clark, the 44th District Agricultural Association sought a qualified candidate for her replacement.

Earlier this month, Jonathan Howard, a Colusa County native, was selected from a group of candidates for the position at the Colusa County Fairgrounds CEO.

“Jonathan is a highly qualified person and he has a wealth of experience that will benefit the Colusa County Fair. We are excited to have him as our new CEO,” said Tony Garofalo, President of the Colusa County Fair Board.

Howard brings a background in sales, management and promotions during his years at the Colusa Casino & Resort, Sleep Train’s power store in San Diego and at the Regent Communications Radio group in Chico.

Howard is no stranger to the Colusa County Fair.

After high school, Howard worked on the maintenance crew during Fair season and obtained a vast amount of management experience.

In returning to the Colusa County Fair, Howard is excited at the opportunity.

“I am looking forward to this new adventure,” said Howard, “I am excited to be working with the community to continue the tradition of this great County Fair and Fairgrounds.  I am especially interested in furthering the work of the Foundation and building support for the Fair and the Farm Show.”

Howard will oversee the daily functions of the Colusa County Fairgrounds in addition to managing the annual Colusa County Fair and the annual Colusa County Farm Show.

“Like everyone in the County, I have been coming to the Colusa County Fair since I was born, and the feeling of nostalgia when I walk through the gate is overwhelming,” Howard added.

Howard will immediately replace outgoing interim CEO Susan Clark.
