North Valley Section FFA Holds Fall Contests

On November 12, 2014 North Valley Section FFA held their fall contests at the Colusa County Fairgrounds, hosted by Colusa FFA. The North Valley Section FFA includes all 15 FFA chapters in Colusa, Butte and Glenn counties. Over 300 members competed in Best Informed Greenhand, Cooperative Marketing, Farm Records and Opening & Closing Ceremonies contests.

Results are are as follows: Best Informed Greenhand High Individuals were 1st Alexis Erickson, Arbuckle; 2nd Faith Fatchen, CORE Butte Charter; 3rd Kat Taylor, Willows; 4th Chris Engel, Hamilton; 5th Tessa Flournoy, Orland. Best Informed Greenhand High Teams were 1st Hamilton City, 2nd Willows, 3rd Colusa, 4th CORE Butte Charter and 5th Arbuckle.

Cooperative Marketing High Individuals were 1st Jamie Engel, Hamilton; 2nd Brigitte Braud, CORE Butte Charter; 3rd Ivan Urena, Hamilton; 4th Emily Murphy, Elk Creek; 5th Katie Freitas, Hamilton. High Teams were 1st Hamilton City, 2nd CORE Butte Charter, 3rd Williams, 4th Elk Creek and 5th Colusa.

Farm Records High Individuals were 1st Andrea Thomas, Colusa; 2nd Sariah Fisher, CORE Butte Charter; 3rd Mariah Garcia, Arbuckle; 4th Allison Wallace, Orland; 5th Ashleigh Ehrke, Arbuckle. High Teams were 1st Arbuckle, 2nd Colusa, 3rd CORE Butte Charter, 4th Orland.
Novice Opening and Closing Ceremonies results were 1st CORE Butte Blue, 2nd Las Plumas Gold, 3rd Hamilton, 4th Las Plumas Blue, 5th CORE Butte Gold, and 6th Willows Blue.

Advanced Opening and Closing Ceremonies results were 1st Las Plumas Blue, 2nd Maxwell Gold, 3rd Maxwell Blue, 4th Arbuckle Blue, 5th Chico Blue, and 6th Colusa Blue.
