Fire Destroys Alfalfa Hay

Firefighters spent most of the day Thursday, November 20th, 2014 at the scene of a fire that destroyed over $10,000 of alfalfa.

At about 11:00 a.m., the Williams Fire Department was dispatched to the scene of the blaze out on Myers Road where they extinguished the flames, but kept busy extinguishing the smoldering hay bales.

The Williams Fire Department was assisted by CalFire with the use of their dozer to split the stacks; and the assistance of both Arbuckle the Maxwell Fire Department.

The Williams Fire Department said that the fire was like the cause of spontaneous combustion of Green Alfalfa.
