Pearl Harbor Day Ceremony Held

Members of the Colusa County Veterans VFW Post 2441 and the Maxwell American Legion Post No. 218 hosted a Pearl Harbor Day Memorial Ceremony on Sunday, December 7, 2014, at Veterans Memorial Park in Colusa.

With Dennis Sanders as the master of ceremonies, the Opening Prayer was given by Dean Beacham.

Sanders spoke of the events, in brief, of that day, 73-years ago.

ā€œLet us remember those men and women who gave their lives as a result of the attack,ā€ said Sanders, ā€œletā€™s also remember the sacrifices our men and women in the military make for us every day.ā€

The national anthem was sung by Anastasia Azevedo as the flag was lowered at half-staff.

The national anthem was followed by a seven gun salute, with Ron Simmons playing ā€˜TAPSā€™. ļ€¼
