NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED WEEKLY ON THURSDAY

The Union Church of Dunnigan Receives Grant

The historic 1892 gothic styled, Union Church of Dunnigan recently received a $5,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

“With this seed money, the committee has launched a fundraising campaign to secure matching funds to retrofit the crumbling brick foundation and chimney, “said Charla Parker, restoration committee member, “additionally we will need to retrofit the stained glass windows to meet current seismic and safety standards.”

With only 1,492 permanent residents in the unincorporated community of Dunnigan, the committee volunteers are reaching out to all citizens of Yolo and Colusa County to help preserve this historic building for the community’s use.

“We invite everyone for an old fashioned ‘Celebration of Song’ on Sunday, December 14th from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at the church,” said Parker.

The Union Church of Dunnigan is located at 3615 County Road 89A in Dunnigan.

There will be free refreshments and handmade crafts available for purchase.
