Colusa Cowboys Win NFC Division 2 Championship

The Colusa Cowboys youth tackle football program is back on top of the Northern California Federation of Youth Football for Division 2.

The Colusa Cowboys closed the season with a perfect 12-0 record, including two victories in the playoffs where they took the NFC Division Championship.

The Colusa Cowboys then advanced to the NCF Super Bowl on November 15th at Foothill High School where they lost 7-34 to the Chico Scorchers, Division 1 Champion.

ā€œThey had an outstanding season this year went 12-0 in their division outscored their opponents 302 to 14.ā€ said Coach Ron Calcagno, ā€œThey did not let a team score the first seven games.ā€

The 2014 Colusa Cowboys team roster includes: Clayton Angus, Nick Azevedo, John Boeger, Bryan Burgess, Shane Calcagno, Isaiah Cardenas, Pedro Cardenas-Carrion, Anjel Carreon, Fernando Castillo, Aksil Howell-Coombs, Liam DeWit, Luis Diaz, Elijah Diaz, Cody Free, Brendan Garcia, Jerry Gonzales, Brandon Guevera, Nathan Gutierrez, Rudy Gutierrez, Daniel Lopez, Christain Lyss, Poli Pulido, Hunter Povlsen, Ulises Rolon, Conner Saso, Blake Steidlmayer, Josue Sullivan, and Camron Telford.

Coaches for the 2014 Colusa Cowboys include head coach Ron Calcagno and assistant coaches Donny Coombs, Carlos Diaz, Garrett Calcagno, Robert Cardenas and the team mom Patty Angus.
