Lloyd Green Jr., the publisher of the Williams Pioneer Review, announced that he has launched a Colusa County Community Calendar that will include information on events in the area.
The free public calendar has been under production for some time but is now out of beta stage and available to the public.
The Colusa County Community Calendar can be found by visiting http://s681654294.onlinehome.us/calendar or by visiting http://colusacounty.today
Green said that the calendar will benefit from a platform that would help organizations promote their events and help community members know what events are happening.
āOur community is very active and some weekends it is very busy,ā said Green, āOur community has been lacking a community calendar for a long time and its time we release this service to our community.ā
Green also said that the calendar hopes also to improve attendance at community events.
āMany organizations post flyers in post office windows, or on social media sites,ā said Green, āalthough these get lots of views, there now is a central place where this information is available without having to search for it.ā
Residents and community organizations can submit their events to publisher@s681654294.onlinehome.us or by clicking the green ā+ Post Your Eventā on the calendar page.
Green said that all community events are reviewed prior to being posting on the calendar.
āThe events submitted must be held in Colusa County or the towns of Meridian or Dunnigan,ā said Green, āThe events must be open to the public and not a commercial event.ā
In addition to the events published online, the events will be added to the weekly print edition of the Williams Pioneer Review. It is suggested to submit an event to the calendar seven days prior to the event date to allow sufficient exposure and time to publish.
