
He spent 22 years in the US Marine Corps and retired in 1968 after serving in China, Korea and two tours in Vietnam. In 1968, Shirl came to Colusa as a Boy Scout executive for 1 and a half years. Then he went to college and got an A.A. degree in airplane mechanics. He then worked for Moore Aviation for 15 years.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Jean of Colusa, CA; daughter Cheryl; son Mark (Kayleen) and 3 grandchildren.
