George Lindsay, Jr. (1934-2014)

Long time Paradise CA and Williams CA resident George Arkley Lindsay Jr. took his final walk with the Lord on May 7th 2014. George was born on September 2, 1934 to George Arkley Lindsay Sr. and Helen Lindsay in Long Beach, California. George spent his childhood in Signal Hill California where he joined the navy after graduating High School. George did served tours with the Navy then finally settled in Paradise CA with his wife Grace and children. Together George and Grace raised two children Gwen and Eric in Paradise. George enjoyed hunting, fishing and was at home working on anything mechanical; George was a longtime member of the ECV. George retired from Chico State University and moved to Williams CA where he has resided for the past 22 years at the Almond Grove Mobile Home Park. In 2002 George received his first guide dog, Derek, from Guide Dogs for the Blind in San Rafael, California. George remained active with Guide Dogs for the Blind and was often seen cruising the streets of Williams and elsewhere with his dogs. George is survived by his wife of 54 years Grace, son Eric (Jenny), daughter Gwen (Max) grandchildren Brock, Zachary and Emily, Sister Joan Becker (Joe) and nieces and nephew, Annette, Michelle, Lisa and Pete. George will be missed by all that knew and loved him. Services will be held on Saturday May 31 at 11:00 at Williams Neighborhood Church 606 12th St in Williams CA. Donations can be made in George’s name to Guide Dogs for the Blind.
