Lloyd William Ferreria (1931-2014)

Ferreria, LloydLloyd William Ferreria, 82 of Maxwell, passed away on June 30, 2014 at his home. Born on August 13, 1931 in Meridian, CA to Adelino and Amelia Ferreria originally from Portugal.

Lloyd is survived by his dog and constant companion Button and 3 children; Loydene Rogers (Robert) of Smartsville, CA, Linda Brinsfield of Oroville, CA, and Lloyd Ferreria Jr of Maxwell, CA, 5 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents and Lydia Ferreria his wife of 56 years.  Also preceding him are his four siblings; John Ferreria, Helen Britt, Joe Ferreria, and Mary Birdseye.

Lloyd attended Maxwell schools graduating in 1950.  He owned and operated a dairy until 1967.  After selling the dairy he began rice farming and enjoyed camping and the freedom farming offered.  He will be remembered for his love of travel whether in his motor home or chaperoning kids from Colusa and the neighboring counties.

In his later years he supported each of his grandchildren in their sporting activities from junior high thru college.  Continuing even after being widowed watching his great granddaughter Lauren Richter.

Lloyd was involved with the Willows Elks Club and Princeton Portuguese Festa for many years.

Lloyd will be truly missed by his family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Thursday July 10, 2014 from 10:00-11:00 am at McNary Moore Chapel, 107 5th Street, Colusa.  Funeral service at 11:00 am, with burial to follow at Maxwell Cemetery.

In memory of Lloyd, donations may be made to the Colusa County 4-H, P.O. Box 180 Colusa, CA  95932 or the Maxwell Fire Dept. 231 W. Oak St., Maxwell, CA  95955, or a charity of your choice.
