Guy Thomas Kalfsbeek (1956-2014)

Guy Thomas Kalfsbeek, 57, died at home in Arbuckle on Thursday, July 10, 2014.

Guy was born the youngest of six siblings in Woodland on Nov. 10, 1956. He worked as a farmer for many years in Arbuckle and was an avid outdoorsman who loved the mountains, fishing and hunting. As a young man he toured Europe and was a volunteer firefighter in Arbuckle. He was also an Elks Club Member. In his later years, Guy enjoyed the company of his friends and family.

Guy is survived by his mother, Bernie Kalfsbeek, three children, Logan, Samantha and Oscar Kalfsbeek, siblings Joe (Mary Kay) Kalfsbeek, Knute (Jeannie) Kalfsbeek, Todd (Debbie) Kalfsbeek and Addie (Willie) Maupin, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hiram Kalfsbeek, and brother, Oscar Kalfsbeek.

A graveside burial will take place at 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17 at the Arbuckle Cemetery, 400 State Highway 99W. A celebration of life will follow at the Arbuckle Golf Club, 5918 Hillgate Road.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Guy’s name to the Arbuckle Volunteer Fire Department P.O. Box 727, Arbuckle, CA 95912.
