Tonia Ann Kakwitch-Dick (1948-2014)

1888649_1382281018715331_1476604692_nTonia Ann Kakwitch-Dick passed away on December 25, 2014.

Born in Keshena, Wisconsin to Elmer and Edith Kakwitch, Tonia attended school in Shawnee, Wisconsin.

Tonia married her first husband, Leroy Sanapaw, and had four daughters: Diana, Janet, Frances, and Rose.

In January of 1981, Tonia married Gerald W. Dick and moved to California where they had a son, Richard.

Over the years Tonia worked at various jobs that included a pilot car driver, and worked various positions at the¬†Colusa Casino, Valley West Convalescent Hospital, Williams Backyard Pizza, and Wendy’s. She soon retired to be a full time wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt.

To those that knew Tonia, remember her as a¬†faithful 49’er fan and always put her family first. Tonia enjoyed attending all and any of her many grandchildren’s sporting events.

Tonia will be dearly missed.

Tonia is survived by her daughters Diana (Gerardo) Muniz, Janet Sanapaw, Frances Sanapaw, Rose Laneros; her son, Richard (Jen) Dick; and stepchildren, Bonnie Sue Peters, Dena Dick, Gerald Dick Jr., and Wayne Cloud; her siblings, Evanell (Joseph) Sanapaw, Richie Hawpetoss, Robert Kakwitch, LaVerne Kakwitch, Elmer Kakwitch Jr., Norman Kakwitch, and Tracy Kakwitch; and three godchildren, Leroy Sanapaw, Shawn Sanapaw, and Carla Denny; 16 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Leroy Sanapaw; her parents Elmer and Edith Kakwitch; her sister Sandara Kakwitch Webster; and her brother Eric Kakwitch.

Memorial Services will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 345 Oak Street, Colusa CA on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.

Services are under the direction of Ulrey Funeral Services, (530) 673-9542.
