Living Well Workshop to help residents with chronic illness

At the end of January, the Colusa County Health and Human Services will offer free workshops to help individuals with lifelong health conditions.

Offered weekly on Wednesdays, will be held at the Scout Cabin (901 Parkhill Street, Colusa) starting January 21 to February 25 from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.

The workshop aims to provide support for those living with asthma, arthritis, cancer, COPD, congestive heart failure, chronic fatigue syndrome, diabetes, depression, and emphysema, fibromyalgia, heart disease, multiple sclerosis, obesity, Parkinson’s disease, and others.

Participants will learn effective problem-solving and decision-making skills, which will enable a more productive life in managing the challenges their chronic illness.

During the six-week session, participants receive support from trained leaders and other workshop participants, learn practical ways to manage their pain and fatigue, learn about nutrition and exercise options, understand new treatment choices and learn better ways to communicate about their conditions with doctors and family members.
