The third annual Jordan Hillis Memorial Basketball Tournament at Colusa High School brought about eighty basketball players to raise money for youth scholarships.
The event, held on January 3-4, was organized to honor the memory of Jordan Hillis, who died in a vehicle rollover on Lone Star Road in 2012.
“The tournament is my way of keeping the memory of Jordan,” said Sara Barron, Hillis’ mother, “We host it the first week in January as it’s close to his birthday.”
Over 90 participated in the community basketball tournament.
“We have team members not only from Colusa, but Williams, Arbuckle, Sutter, and other areas,” said Barron, “It’s so great to see the support.”
With friends and family in the stands remembering Hillis’ love for basketball.
