Six clubs to Compete in NorCal Rugby Football Union
Colusa County Rugby Football Club (CCRFC) has been selected by the Northern California Rugby Football Union (NCRFU) to host the inaugural NCRFU SuperSite Match on January 31, 2015. Six men’s rugby clubs from NCRFU Division 3 will be competing on the pitch at Egling Middle School in Colusa beginning at 11:00 am PST. Vendors will be onsite selling food, beverages, apparel and massage therapy. VIP Tents are available for $100 donation to CCRFC.
CCRFC returns home on January 31, 2015 for the NCRFC SuperSite Match to play Humboldt at 1:00 pm PST.
NCRFU decided to host SuperSite matches in select geographies to raise awareness for the sport of rugby. CCRFC is in the process of starting a youth rugby program (U-18) this summer and views this as a great opportunity to bring youth out to watch men compete in the sport.
“Youth rugby is one of the fastest growing sports in the country,” said CCRFC President, Cody Beckley. “We have amazing community support for the men’s side and now we want to bring that to the youth program in Colusa County starting this summer.”
Colusa County Rugby Football Club (C.C.R.F.C., Inc.) has been in existence since 1973. We are educating the community on a great sport and encourage everyone to participate in a fun and rigorous athletic activity. CCRFC has a mission to get more people playing rugby and educate our community through outreach. We actively work with the Colusa community to develop a long lasting rugby tradition. These programs involve many people of all athletic talents, sizes and shapes. In addition to strengthening our organization, we are actively putting programs in place to recruit youth to the sport of rugby.
