Williams Elementary students celebrated Dr. Seuss’ birthday by participating in Read Across America. Transitional Kindergartners in Barbara Mayberry’s class welcomed special visitors who came and read some of their favorite books.

Mayberry would like to thank the members of the school staff and those from the community who came in to share books with her students. “It was a fun day and the kids really enjoyed meeting and greeting each visitor. And, they were introduced to a variety of books and reading styles.”

Readers for the day included Leti Perez, who read “Chica, Chica, Boom, Boom,” Detective Keith Swift, who read “The Cat in the Hat,” Maria Salcedo, who read “The Kissing Hand,” Mrs. Nichols, who read “I Can Read with My Eyes Shut,” Marion Valadez, who read “Are You my Mother?” Carolanne White, who read “Sounds of the Wild Birds,” and Brian Shellnut, who read “King Midas and the Golden Touch.”
