On Thursday, March 5, 2015, the Colusa County Arts Council took a change in medium from painted canvas and ceramics to artwork of the skin.
“Tattoo art is definitely more than just serpents and ‘mom’ tattoo’s, it really is a true art form,” said Colusa community member, Nancy Newlin as she browsed the exhibit featuring four tattoo artists, and one tattoo photographer.
“I am the only artist featured that isn’t a tattooist,” said Evan Moore.
Moore, a resident of Chico California became interested in tattoos, body modification and fringe culture while he grew up near Albuquerque, New Mexico.
“I have always wanted to take new perspective on something that hasn’t been done before,” said Moore.
Moore began his work with David Singletary of Sacred Art Tattoo in Chico.
Singletary’s artwork was also featured at the gala event.
Other featured artists include Pym, Jamin Sparks, and Jesse Avery.
The Colusa County Arts Council will continue to feature the artwork during the month of March.
