NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED WEEKLY ON THURSDAY

Understanding How Children Grieve Presentation

On Thursday April 16th, 2015 at the Holy Cross Catholic Church hall (412 Laurel Street) in Arbuckle, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm, Daniel Hernández will differentiate grieving patterns between children and adults, and will provide different ways to help create an atmosphere where a child can be supported by their unique grief experiences.

Children of all ages experience a grief reaction to loss in their life. They have a unique grieving process that is often misunderstood.
Some children can develop negative complex thoughts known as “magical thinking” in response to a loss.

Magical thinking often leads to unhealthy grieving patterns in children.

In helping children mourn a loss in healthy ways, it is important to have an awareness of cognitive development in children.

This is a FREE non-denominational presentation. Please make your reservations by calling Maria Lozano, at Sacred Heart Church, (530) 473-2432.

For further information on the presentation, please contact Daniel Hernández at (315) 854-0051 or by email at (d315hernandez@gmail.com).
