Kelseyville Man Arrested in DUI Rollover

On Friday, March 27, 2015 at approximately 5:55 PM, Daniel Winger, 39, was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup in the southbound lane on Interstate 5, just south of Husted Road over crossing.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Winger reported that a white Honda Civic made an unsafe lane change ahead of him, causing him to make and evasive turning movement into the center median.

As a result, Winger lost control of his vehicle and it overturned in the northbound lanes of I-5 and continued to roll onto the right shoulder of the northbound lanes of I-5.

Winger’s vehicle came to a rest on its wheels on the right shoulder south of the Husted road over crossing.

In contradiction to Winger’s statement, the California Highway Patrol interviewed an independent witness at the scene and discovered that Winger’s vehicle had been the only vehicle involved in the collision.

The witness identified winger as the driver.

Winger’s passenger, Kathleen Jones, 59 of Kelseyville was medically transported for moderate injuries. A nine-year-old passenger suffered no injuries as a result of the collision.

Winger was arrested on the suspicion of a Felony DUI causing injury and felony endangerment of a child.

The collision is being investigated by the California Highway Patrol at this time.
