NEWSPAPER PUBLISHED WEEKLY ON THURSDAY

CCAC to hold Artisan Faire at the May Surprise

The Colusa County Arts Council has participated in the annual May Surprise for the past several years. It is held at the Will S. Green Park on the first Saturday in May every year.  This year it will be May 2nd from 10AM to 4PM at the Scout Cabin.

At first, our part was an annual art show, but for the past two years, and again this year we are having an Artisan Faire featuring local artists.    We felt this would be an opportunity to reach out to local artists and give them a venue to present and to sell their work. There will be tables with jewelry, ceramics, sewn items, paintings, etc.  Since this is the weekend before Mother’s Day, it would be a great opportunity to pick up a special gift for mom.  There is still time and space at the Scout Cabin, so if you are interested in having a table contact Colusa County Arts Council at ccac@frontier.com or 458-2222.   The deadline for entries is April 17th.

The other events at the May Surprise include a Pacific Flyway Quilters luncheon, the Garden Club of Colusa County plant sale, the Friends of the Library wine tasting and  the City of Colusa Heritage Commission presentation to a local business that has restored an old building. We all hope many of you can come out on May 2nd to enjoy the day and the fun activities.
